Tuesday, 17 November 200904:11 I created this in a computer session to practice power point skills. Tuesday, 10 November 200911:56 We were given our new design brief this week following our trip to London. I've chosen to study Mexican culture for this brief. I've always been interested in Frida Kahlo's work, and i think that it could be very influential towards my final piece. We were also shown a presentation showing Mexican art and culture as an example, which featured " The Mexican day of the dead" to celebrate the lives of family and loved ones who have passed away. I will definitely look into this as part of research, as the images we we're shown had lots of distinctive colours and patterns that could be interpreted into a design. ![]() 11:35 ![]() I recently created card suits using Adobe illustrator, this really helped towards getting used to all the different tools, and I'm enjoying it a lot more than I expected! I also tried some of the extra credits but soon realized that I'm clearly not as good as I like to think I am. they were really hard! 10:49 ![]() ![]() We've now completed our black and white project. My design was heavily influenced by Issey Miyake, my outcome featured lots of intricate pleats and folds. Whilst researching for this project I also came across the work of Dale Chihuly, a glass artist whose work resembled the technique i was using. I found this broadened my research, and also led me to look at how architecture can influence form and structure in fashion. |
